In 1999 Giacomo had a property which he let through a local agent and although he was paying them commission to fully manage his property, most of the time, he was managing his own property, this led to him terminating his relationship with the agent and managing his own property.

Giacomo surprised himself on his ability to look after and manage his property and that, sparked an idea for him to set up a letting agency.

With the help of a £10 manuel on “HOW TO SET UP A LETTING AGENCY” Giacomo studied the manuel and learnt a lot on how to set up a new letting agency.

Moving forward to the present day, although Giacomo has stepped away from the day to day running activities, Kavanagh Properties which is now headed by the operations Director, Marina Van-roon, looks after, manages and have sold many thousands of properties, throughout the UK, all with a simply idea Giacomo had back in the day.

Giacomo has a very easy, loveable and approachable manner which people find a pleasure when dealing with him, apart from being a “Mad hatter fan of CHELSEA FC” he really is not a bad guy.

Giacomo has had an extensive experience in travelling around the world which has given him a great education in life and being Sicilian, it has also given him great family values.

Marina is our Operations Director, overseeing every aspect of our daily operations in both sales and lettings.

Marina has a wealth of experience as she bought her first property aged 19 and has continued building and expanding her impressive property portfolio over the years.

Outside of work Marina has been known to have a love for a spa day or two and also is a keen walker!

Cheriece heads up the Lettings side of our business, bringing her passion for property which stems from her early involvement in her family’s property business. She joined us in 2023 and has been an invaluable asset ever since.

With prior experience as a call handler for the NHS, Cheriece excels in communication and problem-solving, making her a standout when it comes to supporting our landlords. Her dedication and expertise have earned her the admiration of all our clients.

Outside of work Cheriece has a family of her own and would consider herself a bit of a bookworm as she loves to read!

Kara is our new Mortgage and Protection Advisor with West Country Financial. Following a rewarding career in HM Forces and the Civil Service, Kara joined the financial services industry in 2019.

To support her role in the mortgage industry, she completed her CeMAP qualification through the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Kara first met Jimmy and Marina while selling her own property. After building a strong working relationship with them, she was delighted to offer her services as an advisor.

Kara’s favourite part of being a mortgage and protection advisor is making a difference to peoples lives, and being able to offer advice across the UK.

In her free time, Kara loves watching her son play rugby, catching up with friends, traveling, going on long walks with her dog, and spending quality time with family.
